SVC Marine

Global Vessel Intelligence & Broker Network

Published

SVC Marine sources vessels for purchase, examines sale offers and negotiates commercial and MOA terms under the agreed mandate. Our surveyors and superintendents inspect vessels and attend delivery and yard work in Vietnam.

01

Define the vessel search

A vessel shortlist starts with the intended trade and the buyer’s working requirements. SVC reads vessel offers and purchase enquiries from its international broker, owner, manager and charterer network, then compares suitable candidates against the mandate.

Send vessel type, size, age range, class, intended trade, preferred delivery area and timing, together with your company particulars, to our ship sale and purchase team. For a sale enquiry, provide the principal particulars, position, inspection access and proposed delivery window. The Vessels for Sale market provides a starting point for tonnage enquiries.

02

Compare the offers

SVC examines principal particulars, machinery, cargo capacity or specialist equipment, class status, position and delivery terms against the requirement. We identify missing particulars and ask the owner or offering broker for the current material needed to judge a candidate.

The shortlist sets out the technical and commercial points that affect the decision: vessel suitability, inspection access, docking needs, delivery timing and the proposed terms. Our vessel sourcing service develops the requirement into a working search, including tonnage beyond the public catalogue.

03

Inspect on board in Vietnam

Our surveyor boards the appointed vessel, examines the agreed areas and records the condition with photographs and findings. Hull and deck, machinery, cargo spaces, equipment and available records are examined within the commissioned scope.

SVC issues its pre-purchase inspection report for the buyer’s decision and identifies matters needing further examination, repair pricing or document checks. The pre-purchase inspection service explains the worklist and access particulars. A vessel offer and an inspection report are different parts of the purchase decision.

04

Negotiate the MOA terms

SVC enters the commercial discussion and negotiates the appointed sale or purchase terms. We counter the MOA clauses against the inspection findings, agreed condition, documentary obligations and proposed delivery arrangement.

Price and payment terms, inspection rights, delivery condition, notices, documents and the closing timetable must fit the transaction. We work through these matters with the buyer and seller under the mandate, then examine the closing and delivery file against the agreed terms. See ship sale and purchase in Vietnam.

05

Take the vessel through delivery

Our appointed representative or superintendent attends the agreed handover in Vietnam, checks delivery particulars and records the condition and work requiring attention. The preparation covers access, documents, equipment status and the receiving crew’s requirements.

SVC carries out the commissioned delivery scope and prepares the attendance record. Where the transaction includes a local auction or a Vietnam yard handover, the worklist is defined against that arrangement. The vessel delivery service and selected transaction records show the related work and enquiry routes.

06

Plan the yard and repair work

For a purchase needing docking or repair in Vietnam, our superintendent examines the proposed yard scope, quotation and working schedule. We inspect the appointed work, record progress and findings, and negotiate the agreed quotation or variation matters for the owner.

SVC’s technical team examines the commissioned faults and carries out the agreed repair work. Inspection, owner representation, yard supervision and physical repair have their own scopes and records. See drydock supervision and ship repair in Vietnam when those tasks form part of the acquisition plan.

07

Vessel types and trading tasks

The broker and owner network covers trading vessels, specialist tonnage and charter requirements. SVC compares each enquiry with the actual operating task, cargo or equipment requirement. A storage candidate, a coastal cargo vessel and a towage requirement need different particulars and technical questions.

  • Dry bulk, general cargo and multipurpose vessels
  • Oil and chemical tankers, container vessels and larger tanker candidates
  • Offshore support vessels, AHTS vessels, tugs and barges
  • Storage and FSO conversion candidates
  • Project cargo, special-purpose tonnage and recycling enquiries
  • Voyage or time charter requirements against the proposed employment

08

What buyers and sellers can send

State the intended transaction and the work appointed to SVC. Clear requirements make vessel comparison, an inspection quotation and the commercial discussion useful from the start.

  • Company particulars and whether the enquiry concerns purchase, sale or charter
  • Vessel type, size, age, class and intended trade or equipment task
  • Available principal particulars, position and technical records
  • Preferred inspection and delivery locations and the working window
  • Pre-purchase inspection, MOA negotiation, delivery or yard scope required
  • Repair, docking or equipment matters affecting the buyer’s decision

Questions about the vessel network

Can SVC search beyond vessels shown in the public market?

Yes. SVC examines offers and requirements from its broker and owner network against the mandate. Send the vessel type, size, age, intended trade and delivery window so the search has clear technical and commercial criteria.

What does SVC do before a purchase is agreed?

SVC compares candidate particulars, examines the available records and performs the appointed pre-purchase inspection. We negotiate the commercial and MOA terms against the agreed condition and delivery arrangement.

Can a Vietnam inspection, delivery and yard scope be combined?

Yes. Identify the tasks in the enquiry. Our surveyors inspect the appointed vessel, our representatives attend the agreed delivery, and our superintendents examine and supervise the commissioned yard work. Each scope has its own worklist and records.

What should an owner provide with a sale enquiry?

Send company particulars, principal vessel particulars, position, inspection access and proposed delivery terms. Identify any machinery, class, docking or equipment matter that a buyer needs to examine during the transaction.
