In 2020, SVC Marine and NOSCO Shipyard Joint Stock Company agreed to cooperate on ship repair, maintenance and conversion projects for international shipowners in Vietnam. The agreement adds a shipyard relationship to SVC’s owner’s representative and drydock work in Northern Vietnam.

For an appointed repair scope, SVC reviews the owner’s requirements, examines the yard proposal and attends the work. Our superintendent checks progress and reports technical and commercial items requiring the owner’s decision.

02

Build the repair specification before the yard quotation

SVC examines the defect list, repair specification, available drawings and the vessel’s working window. We put the required items into a scope that the yard and specialist vendors can price, then compare the proposed quantities, rates, exclusions and schedule.

The review identifies which work belongs to the yard and which inspections, services or supplies need a separate order. SVC discusses the commercial terms and proposed variations with the yard for the owner, so the scope and cost are clear before additional work proceeds.

03

Attend the yard as the owner’s representative

Our superintendent attends the appointed repair stages, examines completed items and checks them against the agreed work list. Daily reports describe progress, photographs, open defects, delays and decisions needed from the owner.

SVC examines steel, machinery and other repair items within its commissioned inspection scope. Class survey items and specialist attendance are placed in the working schedule with the yard and the responsible service providers. The yard performs its contracted repair work; SVC inspects and represents the owner.

04

Review variations, costs and the handover file

Extra quantities, replacement parts or a changed repair method can affect the invoice and delivery date. SVC reviews the proposed change, examines the quantities and price, and presents the item for the owner’s decision.

At the appointed handover, we review completed work, the agreed test records, outstanding items and the yard’s documentation. The owner receives the technical report and commercial review for the repair close-out.

05

A shipyard relationship for repair enquiries in Vietnam

The NOSCO cooperation provides a route for shipowners to discuss ship repair, maintenance and conversion requirements in Northern Vietnam. The quotation and working plan are prepared around the actual vessel, repair scope, yard availability and intended delivery window.

SVC’s drydock superintendent service and owner’s representative service describe the appointed work. Read the NOSCO drydock record for the published steel-renewal and yard-inspection scope.

06

Send the repair list and proposed docking window

For a NOSCO or other Vietnam shipyard enquiry, send the vessel’s principal particulars, proposed docking dates, repair list, drawings and available defect photographs to [email protected]. Identify the items requiring owner’s representative attendance, technical inspection or commercial review.
