A purchase that included the work before delivery
The mandate covered more than a change of ownership. The geared feeder required drydock and upgrade work, class transfer and the stores and spares needed by the incoming operating team. SVC carried out the sale and organised that work around the delivery date.
Drydock work and the RINA transfer
SVC managed the drydock worklist, survey arrangements and class-transfer work. The vessel’s geared configuration was relevant to its intended service at ports with different shore-handling arrangements.
The class programme and the repair worklist had to be completed alongside the transaction documents. SVC managed these tasks within the purchase-and-delivery mandate; class acceptance remained with the classification society.
Stores and spares on board before handover
SVC supplied provisions, bonded stores and critical spare parts before delivery. The team brought the yard, class and supply work into the handover checklist, and the vessel was delivered in Vietnam on 25 March 2024.
Plan the acquisition and its first worklist
For a geared feeder purchase, send the target capacity, trading ports, cargo-gear needs, inspection window and intended delivery date. The repair and supply budget should be considered alongside the purchase price.
SVC negotiates the purchase and counters MOA terms under the buyer’s mandate, then performs the appointed inspection, drydock and handover work. See ship sale and purchase and completed transactions.
