01

Describe the crane movement that is affected

Our fitters investigate the crane movement, hydraulic circuit and fault observations. State whether the reported issue affects hoisting, luffing, slewing or another movement, and record the actual leakage, interruption or abnormal behaviour observed by the crew. Send available readings and the conditions when the problem occurs.

A stopped movement does not establish which pump, motor, valve or cylinder has failed. Include the maintenance history and any checks already performed. SVC uses that information to define the first inspection and the component work to be quoted after identification.

02

Keep component boundaries clear

We distinguish pumps, motors, valves, cylinders, hoses and connections in the repair scope. Send nameplates, drawings and connection photographs, including the references and dimensions available to the vessel. Retain the distinction between a removed part being overhauled and a replacement being proposed.

If another crane’s component is considered for transfer, identify both units and the engineer’s required compatibility checks. Do not assume interchangeability from the similar appearance of two pumps. Any transfer or additional fitting work needs its own accepted worklist.

03

Plan attendance around the cargo programme

Our crew plans crane access and component work around the cargo programme. Advise cargo commitments, access limitations and the proposed isolation and handling arrangements with the vessel team. Repair attendance should not depend on an unconfirmed gap in cargo work.

SVC identifies onboard labour, removal, workshop tasks, replacement parts and refitting separately in the proposal. If time or access restricts the scope, agree the revised tasks and outstanding work before mobilisation rather than treating a shortened attendance as a complete overhaul.

04

Match the handover record to the agreed checks

We complete and record the agreed crane checks and outstanding actions. Keep readings and results with the identified crane and test conditions. An operating observation, a workshop test and a witnessed load test are distinct records and should not be described as interchangeable acceptance.

State any owner or surveyor requirements when asking for the quotation. Further tests, certification or return-to-service decisions need the appropriate agreed scope. Our team brings practical hydraulic repair experience to crane attendance at Lao-Viet.

Questions about Deck-crane hydraulic repair at Lao-Viet Port

Can the quote cover a hydraulic pump and connected hose work?

Yes, where each component and task is identified. Send connection details, the reported fault and the requested removal, repair or replacement scope so the interfaces remain clear.

Does component repair include a crane load test?

Only if that additional work is agreed. Identify the required test, witnessing and records separately from the component repair and ordinary operating checks.
