On-site appraisal and document review

The sale required repeated appraisal work before closing. SVC’s director attended the transaction meetings and went to the vessel with the appraisal team for inspections, document review and valuation work.

The work addressed the questions in the transaction file through face-to-face meetings and actual onboard attendance.

From completed documents to physical delivery

Once the transaction could proceed, the final documents were executed and SVC completed the sale. The tanker was delivered in Vietnam on 24 February 2024.

The appraisal visits and document reviews formed part of the route to that closing. SVC completed the documents and physical handover within the transaction programme.

Prepare an oil tanker purchase

Send the intended cargo, capacity, class, trading requirements and purchase timetable. SVC examines seller documents, sends its surveyor on board for the appointed inspection and negotiates price and MOA clauses with the client.

The closing worklist should identify the documents, inspection findings and delivery conditions still to be resolved. See ship sale and purchase and vessel handover.
