Project-cargo lashing at VinMetal Port

SVC carries out project-cargo lashing and securing at VinMetal Port. Our crews prepare the materials, fit lashings and securing components, and record the installed work against the cargo arrangement, bringing hands-on deck-work experience to the loading operation.

01

Start with the cargo unit and its securing position

We review each cargo unit and its securing position before preparing the lashing work. Send dimensions, weight, centre-of-gravity information where available and the planned deck or hold position. Mark the securing points and any restrictions affecting access to them. A packing-list description alone may not define the work around a large or irregular unit.

The vessel’s loading sequence matters: securing one item can obstruct access to another. Explain when each unit will be in its final position and which areas remain available for the lashing crew. Keep the cargo list and the latest drawing revision together.

02

Distinguish the securing plan from its installation

Our crews install the specified securing arrangement with its approved work instructions. Engineering calculations, approved sea-fastening design and installation labour are separate scopes. Tell SVC whether the request is to install an established arrangement or to quote additional design work before installation can be defined.

SVC identifies the proposed lashing materials, fabrication and onboard work against that arrangement. Changes in cargo weight, position or securing points need review before they are treated as a minor material substitution. The work record should show the arrangement actually installed.

03

Define materials, hot work and access

We prepare lashings, securing components and the access needed for installation. Keep a material purchase separate from a request for welding, fitting or tensioning work. Proposed equivalents require acceptance for the intended use.

For any hot work, identify the vessel’s working conditions, permitted work area and the required arrangements with the responsible vessel and terminal parties. Attendance is confirmed for the actual VinMetal berth and work window; a cargo booking does not itself establish permission for every securing task.

04

Inspect and record the installed work

We inspect the installed work and record its condition before handover. Photographs should identify the relevant securing location and outstanding items. Note any obstruction, changed connection or incomplete task before the handover is closed.

The Dung Quat lashing record linked below is a real work example from another port. Its cargo, date and location remain there. The VinMetal enquiry requires its own cargo drawings, appointment and completion record, with no assumption of a standing terminal or cargo-owner contract.

Questions about Project-cargo lashing at VinMetal Port

Can SVC quote lashing from a cargo list alone?

The list is a starting point. Supply dimensions, weights, final positions, securing drawings and the requested installation or design scope so the materials and labour can be defined.

Does lashing attendance establish approval of the securing design?

No. Design review, calculations, installation and acceptance must be identified separately. The completion record states the work actually performed and checks agreed for that appointment.

08

Request a VinMetal service quotation

Email the SVC cargo desk with cargo dimensions and weights, securing drawings, the appointed work scope and installation window. Include the actual VinMetal berth or nominated position and the latest vessel schedule. SVC returns the proposed scope and outstanding confirmations for acceptance.
