Local Agency and Docking Formalities

SVC Marine arranges local formalities for the appointed drydock project, including visas, crew sign-on and sign-off, customs procedures and spare-parts clearance. The team follows the vessel and yard schedule and reports outstanding requirements to the owner.

Owner’s Representation at the Yard

Where appointed as the owner’s representative, SVC Marine reviews the vessel’s repair requirements, prepares worklists and budgets, and compares and negotiates shipyard quotations.

During docking, SVC Marine follows repair progress, reviews variations and costs, and communicates with the vessel, yard and attending class surveyor. Outstanding work and schedule changes are reported to the owner.

Repair and Coating Attendance

Coating attendance covers the agreed preparation and application stages. Records may include surface-preparation checks, primer and subsequent coats, material use and the coating inspection records specified for the project.

Survey-related work may include tailshaft withdrawal, rudder and boiler maintenance, engine overhauls and pump repairs. SVC Marine follows the agreed worklist and collects the inspection and completion records required for each item.

Equipment and Survey Work

The drydock worklist can include NDT attendance, oil analysis and ballast water treatment system work. The appointed suppliers and inspectors provide their relevant records, with statutory and class acceptance handled by the responsible parties.

For chemical tankers, valve supply and testing are checked against the specified service and documentation requirements. For container vessels, SVC Marine can supply lashing materials and carry out cell guide repairs within the agreed scope.

Accountability in Every Report

SVC Marine reports observed progress, completed checks and unresolved items, supported by photographs and the available service records. Class and authority submissions are followed up with the responsible parties.

Planning a Drydock Project in Vietnam

A drydock project in Vietnam needs a suitable yard, a clear worklist and local follow-up throughout the repair period. SVC Marine provides that attendance as part of the owner’s technical team.
