Scheduled five-year crane load-test work

The vessel commissioned SVC for its scheduled five-year crane load-test attendance. SVC undertook the job and delivered the work-done report; the commercial close-out included the final invoice and a separate invoice for additional work.

For the next attendance, the worklist identifies each crane or lifting appliance and its required test scope. Deck, provision and engine-room cranes need their own capacity, access and documentation details.

From the worklist to the onboard test

For a new load-test job, SVC plans the appointed test equipment, onboard access, handling arrangements and required witnesses against the vessel’s working window. The quotation identifies the crane, requested test, equipment and reporting scope together.

Send the previous report or certificate and details of any repair or equipment change. Identify the test requirement and any class or survey witness before attendance so that the vessel can prepare the right appliance and records.

Work-done report and job close-out

SVC delivered the work-done report and final invoice for this job. Additional work was recorded separately, keeping the requested attendance and extra charges identifiable.

For a new job, specify the readings, report and any certificate required. The agreed test scope and appointed witness determine those records; the report for one attendance is not a blanket approval of every crane on board.

Send the crane details and port schedule

Send the maker, model, identification and safe working load of each appliance, the previous report, reason for testing, port or anchorage, ETA and working window. Include onboard access, equipment-handling arrangements and the required owner or survey witness.

SVC quotes the appointed load-test work and reporting. See crane load testing in Vietnam and ship repair for related inspections and repairs.
