A mixed requisition for the port call
The provision list covered vegetables, meat, poultry, frozen prawns, rice, sauces, sugar and cooking oil. The same delivery record included a separate engineering-store section for steel flat bars and mild-steel welding electrodes. This is a practical ship-supply requirement: the galley and the engineering department need different goods during the same port call.
Keeping specification and packing units clear
The engineering scope listed eight hot-rolled steel flat bars, specified as 12 mm thick, 65 mm wide and 5.5 m long. It also listed four packets of 3.2 mm mild-steel electrodes, with 5 kg per packet.
Those units matter when preparing a mixed order. A packet is a purchasing unit; its weight is a separate specification. For provisions, kilograms, litres, bottles, boxes and pieces need to remain separate so the chief cook and the receiving crew can check the intended quantities.
Prepare both departments for one receiving window
For a comparable delivery, group the food list and engineering stores into separate sections while giving both the same port, ETA and receiving arrangements. State the required food condition and pack sizes, and provide the steel dimensions or electrode specification as written in the requisition. Any proposed substitution should be agreed before supply.
