Marine pipe renewal and pipework in Vietnam
Prepare marine pipe renewal enquiries with SVC Marine: ship-side, CO2 and scrubber records, drawings, flange specifications and Vietnam port timing.
01
Pipe renewal and fabrication
SVC Marine carries out marine pipe renewal, fabrication and onboard fitting in Vietnam. Project examples include ship-side pipework, CO2 system pipe renewal at Chan May and scrubber overboard repair at Quy Nhon. Each system has its own material, dimensional and testing requirements, which are identified in the agreed repair scope.
Identify the pipe system and the affected section on a drawing or marked photograph. Include line references, material specification and dimensions where documented. State whether the enquiry covers inspection, a defined renewal section or a wider investigation. Where the vessel lacks measured dimensions, identify the need for onboard inspection before fabrication is fixed.

02
Ship-side renewal and access
The steel pipe renewal record shows damaged pipework, ship-side access, deck preparation and welding scenes. These photographs belong to the original work and show why access arrangements can be as significant as the replacement component.
For a new ship-side request, state the location relative to the deck and receiving access. Supply overall and detail photographs so the work area can be understood. Identify nearby equipment and the proposed attendance location. A repair alongside and a repair at anchorage have different access and transfer arrangements, which should appear in the quotation scope.
03
CO2 system pipework
The Chan May CO2 pipe renewal record includes prefabricated pipework, welded joints, delivery and installation scenes. The project includes workshop fabrication and onboard installation within the agreed CO2 pipework scope.
For a CO2 pipe enquiry, identify the affected line through the system drawings and equipment references. State the documented material and connection requirements, the requested scope and the technical party responsible for acceptance. Any isolation, restoration and system tests need the vessel's applicable arrangements and the agreed specialist scope. Keep the fire-system work separate from ordinary service pipework in the worklist and handover records.
04
Scrubber spools and overboard connections
The Quy Nhon scrubber overboard case shows corroded pipe, a removed spool, replacement preparation and flange work. The photographs show the removed component, replacement preparation and connections at the worksite.
Mark the proposed renewal limits and describe adjacent connections. Provide flange standard, orientation, material, wall thickness and dimensional references where available. Distinguish documented values from estimates awaiting measurement. Include any required drawing review or witness attendance in the enquiry. Broader system work connects to BWMS and scrubber repair.
05
Fabrication, fitting and records
Separate workshop fabrication from onboard removal and fitting. State which components are supplied and which are included in the enquiry. The worklist can identify pipe lengths, spools, flanges, valves, attachments and any adjacent steel work. For related structural items, see steel repair and hot work.
Ask the quotation to describe the proposed dimensional checks, inspections and tests for the particular system. Specify required material records, drawings, photographs and completion documents, including any Surveyor requirements. Inspection and test records should identify the particular line and work performed. Clear component references help link the installed work to the correct drawing and agreed scope.
Where several systems are included in one port call, group the enquiry by system and access location. Keep the timing, vessel arrangements and document requirements visible for each group so that one line repair is not mistaken for approval of the entire installation.
06
Plan attendance around the actual port call
Send the port or anchorage, ETA, ETD, available working period and any vessel restrictions with the defect list. SVC reviews the required access, planned cargo operations and other work that affects attendance. The quotation identifies inspection, parts, fabrication, onboard labour, testing and any attendance by a Surveyor. Agree the required completion records, witness arrangements and handover responsibilities before work starts so each item can be followed through to completion.
For a wider worklist, use SVC Marine ship repair services. Email the repair enquiry with drawings, equipment references and photographs through the private enquiry channel. SVC Marine is proud to help complete the full lifecycle of a vessel.
FAQ
What details define a replacement spool?
The system reference, measured dimensions, material, wall thickness, connection standard and orientation, subject to the agreed technical scope.
Are CO2 pipes ordinary service pipework?
Keep the fire-extinguishing system scope and its specialist acceptance requirements separately identified.
Can fabrication be quoted before onboard measurements?
