Hose connections before sourcing
SVC’s supply team reviewed hose items in the Cam Pha requisition and asked for photographs of the hose threads, couplings and fittings. The enquiry needed the available specifications as well as pictures of the fittings.
A hose description or pressure label alone does not identify the complete assembly. The connection questions belonged to the relevant requisition lines, so the vessel and SVC could define the proposed items before sourcing.
Ship-store delivery and receiving records
SVC delivered the ship-store order and sent the final invoice, referring to the signed delivery report. The customer thanked the team for the delivery.
For a mixed order, SVC records the agreed item descriptions and specification questions against the requisition lines. The receiving crew uses the agreed order and delivery record to check the items handed over.
Useful details for a hose quotation
Send photographs of the existing hose and both end connections, including readable markings. Include quantity, length, intended service, required pressure specification and the connection details known to the vessel.
State whether an equivalent is acceptable and agree the proposed item before supply. List hose assemblies, loose fittings and adaptors separately when they are separate requisition items.
- Item, quantity and purchasing unit
- Hose length, intended service and required pressure specification
- Photographs and details of both end connections
- Port or anchorage, ETA, delivery window and receiving contact
