Discontinued Maker Supply
The original manufacturer may no longer produce the model or maintain records for the installed component.

01
SVC Marine identifies, sources, repairs, adapts and delivers obsolete or difficult marine spare parts for vessels calling Vietnam. We handle nameplate checks, technical cross-reference, OEM and equivalent options, secondhand availability, workshop preparation and onboard installation where required.
A missing sensor, relay, valve item, pump component or control module can delay machinery readiness, class close-out or vessel departure.

From unidentified component to installed part
03
Yes. SVC Marine sources obsolete, discontinued and difficult marine spare parts for vessels calling Vietnam. The search may be based on a maker and part number, but it can also begin with photographs, nameplates, dimensions, electrical ratings, manuals, drawings or the operating function of the component.
Where an exact new replacement is unavailable, SVC Marine may check an equivalent item, China OEM alternative, secondhand or reconditioned component, local workshop repair or a fabricated replacement for owner review.
Final suitability depends on the item’s function and the applicable owner, manager, maker, class, flag, statutory and safety requirements.
Why the case is difficult
04
The problem is rarely the purchase order. It is that the component cannot be named, matched or delivered inside the time the vessel has.
The original manufacturer may no longer produce the model or maintain records for the installed component.
The vessel may only have an old part, unclear photograph, damaged nameplate or incomplete manual reference.
The installed equipment may differ from the original drawing due to previous repair or modification.
The required item may need to be identified, purchased, prepared and delivered before the vessel sails.
A physically similar part may still be unsuitable because of rating, material, operating duty, certification or control-system compatibility.
The sourcing task is therefore not only “find the part”. It is to identify a technically workable and commercially realistic route before the vessel loses more time. SVC Marine handles the technical problem behind the part request - not only the purchase order.
Replacement decision matrix
05
Six routes are checked against the component’s function, the vessel’s schedule and the approvals the item requires. More than one route is often presented so the owner can choose on cost, lead time and risk.

An interim measure is never described or reported as a permanent repair. Where the item is class-related, statutory or safety-critical, the relevant authorised party decides whether an interim arrangement is acceptable at all.
Technical scope
09
Scope covers the component groups where identification, substitution and workshop preparation usually decide whether the vessel sails on time.
This is a sourcing scope, not a stock list. Availability, price and lead time depend on supplier response, maker position, customs requirement, logistics condition and the vessel’s schedule at the time of inquiry.
Compatibility control
10
Six checks stand between a candidate item and an installed component. A route that fails any one of them is presented to the owner as a limitation, not as a solution.

Case handling
11
Six steps from the first photograph to a closed-out item, with the owner told at each step what is confirmed and what is still open.
Vung Ang workshop
12
SVC Marine’s Vietnam operations and workshop presence at Vung Ang allows selected components and materials to be inspected, prepared, repaired or fabricated before dispatch to a vessel, shipyard or repair team.
Workshop scope depends on drawings, measurements, material requirements, equipment condition and the technical acceptance required for the item.
13
Supply plus attendance
14
For selected jobs, SVC Marine can combine the supply package with onboard inspection, measurement, removal, fitting, modification, installation and function testing.
Attendance depends on vessel location, port permission, safe access, work permit, team availability and the technical scope.
15
Inquiry checklist
16
For older vessels, photographs and nameplates are usually more useful than a written description. Send whatever exists - an incomplete set is still a workable starting point.
Delivery coverage
18
SVC Marine handles selected spare parts and technical supply deliveries to vessels at Vietnamese ports, shipyards, port gates, agent offices, workshops, launch-boat points and anchorages.
19
Final delivery feasibility depends on supplier stock, customs status, agent instruction, port access, launch availability, weather and vessel schedule.
20
Technical risk notice
21
Some vessel components require maker, class, flag, statutory or approved-service-provider acceptance. SVC Marine may source, prepare, deliver and assist with installation, but does not replace the authority responsible for technical or statutory acceptance.
Final acceptance remains with the vessel owner, technical manager and the relevant authorized party.
Why owners use SVC Marine
22
We work from equipment function, ratings, photos, dimensions and maker references - not only from a purchase description.
The search may include original maker, local stock, international supply, China OEM, equivalent, secondhand, repair or fabrication.
Selected items can be repaired, adapted, fabricated, packed or prepared before dispatch.
Where required, SVC Marine can connect the supply package with vessel-side repair attendance.
The owner receives sourcing status, available options, technical limitations, delivery timing and remaining actions.
