Periodic underwater maintenance for wind farms in Ky Anh

SVC Marine carries out periodic underwater inspection and maintenance for wind energy assets in Ky Anh, Ha Tinh. We inspect foundations, buoy attachments and accessible cable-protection areas, clean nominated surfaces and record condition changes for the O&M team.

Keep an underwater asset register for O&M

SVC’s underwater maintenance work follows an identifiable asset list. Give each foundation, buoy, mooring component and cable inspection location a stable reference. Keep the latest drawings, original installation details, previous findings and relevant manufacturer instructions with that asset.

The first inspection establishes the condition of the areas actually examined. Later attendances use the same references and, where practical, comparable views and measurement points. This makes changes visible to the owner’s maintenance team and gives follow-up work a clear location.

Foundation inspection and targeted marine-growth removal

Our divers inspect accessible underwater surfaces and record visible coating damage, corrosion, concrete defects, insecure fittings and trapped debris. SVC cleans the nominated areas needed for inspection or maintenance using a method compatible with the structure and its protection system.

The cleaning worklist defines surfaces, extent, method and handling of removed material. Removing growth from one inspection area is different from cleaning an entire foundation. The engineer or owner identifies any surfaces that require particular protection or must remain undisturbed.

Buoy attachments, chains and connection maintenance

SVC inspects the accessible underwater arrangement of marker buoys and agreed mooring systems. Checks can include component wear, loose or missing fittings, entanglement, visible damage and changes affecting position or function. Replacement work uses the specified components and approved arrangement.

Maintain a configuration record after every change. Include component references, available certificates, dimensions where measured, photographs and who accepted the work. The marker-buoy guide explains the distinction between a positional marker and an engineered vessel mooring.

Anodes, cable protection and specialist checks

The maintenance programme can record the visible condition of anodes, exposed cable protection and accessible entries. Agree any measurements, specialist NDT or electrical-party attendance as identifiable tasks. The foundation inspection and cable-diving support guides provide the relevant scope details.

Visible condition and functional performance are different records. CP measurements, buried-cable surveys and electrical tests need their own methods and responsible personnel. The O&M worklist keeps those results linked to the asset without treating a visual dive as proof of every system’s performance.

Choose inspection intervals from condition and risk

The asset owner sets intervals using the design, maintenance instructions, environmental exposure, consequence of failure and previous findings. A buoy that repeatedly shifts and a foundation with stable recorded condition may need different follow-up. SVC prepares repeat attendance against the owner’s programme and the actual work required.

Additional checks may be needed after severe weather, vessel contact, dragging anchors or nearby construction. The marine and electrical teams first establish the operating restrictions and work controls for attendance. Findings then determine the next inspection or repair action.

Plan downtime and marine access together

Group work by asset location and compatible tasks so the project can plan access, isolation and vessel support. The schedule identifies diving time, surface checks, component handling, specialist attendance and reporting. Weather, current, visibility and competing operations still determine the usable work window.

SVC’s team brings practical experience from southern Vietnam’s wind farm construction to this maintenance planning. That experience supports organised underwater execution, communications and work records. The appointed scope identifies the personnel, equipment and project requirements for the actual Ky Anh attendance.

Reports that carry open defects into the next visit

The maintenance report states what was inspected, cleaned, replaced or measured, and connects those activities to asset IDs and supporting images. Keep inaccessible areas, deferred work and new observations explicit. Record the owner’s disposition, required engineering review and planned follow-up against each open item.

A useful close-out distinguishes an observation from an accepted repair. It identifies the component fitted, the checks performed and any remaining action before handover. This gives the next O&M team a reliable starting point even when personnel or contractors change.

Does periodic maintenance mean the same frequency for every asset?

No. Inspection intervals are asset-specific and follow the owner’s engineering and maintenance programme. Condition trends and significant events may require a revised schedule. A generic monthly, quarterly or annual promise would not define the right programme for every foundation, buoy and cable section.

What should an O&M enquiry include?

Email [email protected] the asset register, previous reports, drawings, maintenance instructions, open defects and proposed attendance periods. Include operating status, isolation responsibilities, marine access, supplied spares and required records. For construction-to-maintenance planning, start with wind farm diving services in Ky Anh.
