SVC Marine has completed the sale of the geared feeder containership Bien Dong Fortune (IMO 9336323), since renamed Fortune I, to a buyer in Iran for USD 4.9m, with delivery on 31 January 2024 in Vietnam. The vessel finished a yard programme that included repairs and a successful transfer to Rina class, following weeks of weather-related setbacks.

Power outages, damaged yard cranes and a two-week internet blackout after Typhoon Yagi forced workarounds across Vietnamese shipyards. SVC Marine coordinated contractors, surveys and parts supply to keep the schedule moving; Fortune I sailed on spec and on time.

“Yagi tested every yard in the North. Even so, we finished the worklist, passed class and handed over on schedule,” an SVC Marine Mr Daniel – Director said.
