Port information and service details

Hoa Phat Dung Quat's dedicated port serves the Hoa Phat steel complex and its raw-material and finished-steel movements. For an appointed vessel call, SVC Marine reviews the defect, stores or cargo-side worklist, boards when access is granted, and carries out the agreed repair, inspection or delivery within the permitted scope. Send the vessel schedule, working location and photographs so the technical team can assess the job before a quotation. The port operator and responsible agent confirm berth access and formalities.

About Hoa Phat Dung Quat Port

Hoa Phat describes its dedicated Dung Quat port as handling inward raw materials and outward steel products for the steel complex. The company's separate general/container port has a wider public-cargo role. This page concerns a vessel's marine-service enquiry at the dedicated port; it does not present the two facilities as one interchangeable berth.

  • Location: Dung Quat Economic Zone, Quang Ngai, Vietnam
  • Published function: dedicated port for the Hoa Phat steel complex, including raw-material imports and steel-product exports
  • Separate facility: Hoa Phat's general/container port serves a different cargo-handling remit
  • Working berth, cargo operation and vessel access: confirm with the port operator and responsible agent for the actual call

02

Plan Around the Actual Berth and Cargo Work

Ore, coal and other steelmaking inputs move inward; steel products move outward. Cargo handling, terminal equipment, berth allocation and permission to work remain under the port's arrangements. A published port description does not confirm a crane slot, hot-work permit, diving approval or spare-part delivery point for one vessel.

SVC checks the master's or superintendent's worklist against the ETA and planned cargo operation. For repair or underwater work, SVC identifies isolation, access, lifting and permit requirements before confirming what can be performed. The responsible agent and port arrange their own formalities and site access.

  • Confirm the vessel, ETA and whether the job is alongside or at an approved anchorage
  • Identify any cargo operation, restricted working area and safe work window
  • Send equipment make/model, defect photographs, drawings and spare-part status
  • State whether owner, class, surveyor or specialist attendance is required

SVC Marine's Appointed Vessel Work

For a commissioned vessel call, SVC's attending personnel perform the agreed marine work where the port, safety conditions and appointment allow. The port, agent, class and specialist providers retain their own decisions.

  • Ship repair: board, inspect and record the reported mechanical, electrical or steel defect, agree a safe worklist, carry out the permitted repair and report completed and open items.
  • Technical spares and provisions: verify specifications and quantities, source the agreed filters, ropes, lubricants, machinery parts or crew stores, deliver to the approved handover point and record receipt.
  • Underwater inspection or cleaning: inspect the hull or propeller and document findings when diving is appointed and permitted. The relevant authority controls diving permission and class accepts its own survey evidence.
  • Drydock and voyage repairs: inspect the vessel's worklist, compare yard proposals and supervise an agreed repair scope when separately appointed. The yard controls slot availability and class controls its own approvals.
  • Sale and purchase: under a separate commercial mandate, SVC sources suitable bulk or steel-cargo tonnage, reviews particulars, boards for inspection when appointed and negotiates or counters MOA terms for the client.
  • Port and crew information: SVC provides its work and delivery records and can plan separately appointed crew movement. The responsible agent and authorities handle their own customs, permits, immigration and berth formalities.

What to send for a practical quotation

Send the vessel name and particulars privately with the ETA, berth or anchorage if known, agent contact, fault or supply list, photographs and the requested work window. SVC will identify what it can inspect, repair or deliver and what requires port, yard, class or specialist approval.

  • Repair: equipment identification, symptoms, previous checks and available spares
  • Supply: item specifications, quantities and delivery contact
  • Underwater or drydock: inspection purpose, survey requirement and access or permit status
  • Commercial vessel search: vessel/cargo requirements and the client's appointment scope

Frequently Asked Questions

Can SVC repair a vessel during a call at the dedicated port?

SVC can assess the defect and quote an appointed repair after receiving the worklist, photographs, ETA and working location. Boarding, isolation, hot work and timing depend on the port's permission and the vessel's cargo operation.

Does SVC issue class approval for underwater work?

No. SVC can carry out permitted inspection or cleaning and provide the work record and photographs for the client or surveyor. The relevant authority controls diving permission, and class decides whether evidence meets its requirements.

Can SVC source bulk tonnage for a steel-cargo movement?

Yes. Under a separate brokerage appointment SVC can search suitable vessels, review particulars and negotiate or counter commercial terms. Vessel appointment and berth access are confirmed separately with the port operator and responsible agent.
